To achieve this, all safety components, such as the electronic control systems, brakes and suspension, have been perfectly coordinated with the requirements generated by the additional weight of the S-Guard. And it goes without saying that every Mercedes-Benz Guard model offers the luxury you are accustomed to from the S-Class.

Three models of the ex factory armoured luxury saloons are available: the S 600 Guard, the new S 600 Pullman Guard and the new S 420 CDI Guard with high-torque diesel engine.

The S 600 passenger cell has been radically redesigned and strengthened using highly effective protective components – particularly at those points subsequently no longer accessible. From the vehicle interior right to the outer skin of the body, a host of safety components have been networked to form a superbly effective protection system. Inconspicuous from the outside, this ingenious safety structure is integrated ex factory and includes steel, aramid and special-purpose glass.

The new S 600 Pullman Guard with extended wheelbase is a saloon designed for government use and accordingly meets the highest standards of safety. The extra-high roof and integrated office provides the perfect blend of superb protection and sheer luxury.

The benefits of a high-torque diesel engine were applied for the first time in an ex factory armoured luxury saloon in September 2007. In the S 420 CDI Guard, this is expressed by the cultured power of a V8 CDI engine, which is capable of transporting all passengers out of a danger zone even in emergency situations.
