The S-Class's assistance systems can help to make travel more relaxed. They support the driver providing valuable information – even with help when parking.

When parking or looking for a parking space, the driver can call on the assistance of the optional parking package with PARKTRONIC incl. Parking Guidance and rear-view camera. PARKTRONIC uses data from ultrasound sensors to determine whether the length of a parking space is adequate and provides precise instructions on the correct steering angle and points at which to turn or reverse in order to park with only a few turns of the steering wheel: a yellow guide line in the display indicates the required steering angle and a red guide line the current angle. When the two coincide the displayed guide line turns green. In addition, the PARKTRONIC display also indicates current distance to any obstacles present.

The reversing camera with wide-angle lens is located in the boot lid below the handle strip; it displays the area behind the car in the COMAND display.
