DISTRONIC proximity control At the push of a button the DISTRONIC proximity-controlled cruise control keeps the vehicle at the desired distance from the vehicle in front. Radar sensors permanently measure the distance and regulate the speed. The cruise control function also allows the driver to set a desired speed which is automatically maintained.
Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) with tow-away protection and interior monitoring The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) protects the vehicle from theft and break-ins as soon as the vehicle is locked via the remote. The system triggers an alarm when an unauthorised person opens the vehicle doors, the boot lid or the bonnet. The alarm also sounds if the ignition lock is shorted or removed or the foot brake is applied. The tow-away protection function responds to a change in the position of the vehicle and can be deactivated – for example, if the car must be loaded onto another vehicle or towed.
PARKTRONIC parking aid The electronic parking aid PARKTRONIC monitors the front and rear of the vehicle during manoeuvring and warns the driver if there is a risk of collision. If the system identifies an obstruction, it provides a visual signal. As soon as the distance is less than approx. 35 cm, a short warning sound is emitted. When the vehicle gets even closer (less than approx. 25 cm away) a continuous signal is heard. PARKTRONIC uses this procedure to make parking safe, even with limited space available.
Tyre pressure monitoring system The tyre pressure monitoring system provides a warning if the tyres have lost a dangerous amount of air. The wheel electronics of the four wheels continually transmit the tyre pressure and temperature data to the vehicle’s control unit. If the system identifies a variance then it warns the driver via a yellow or red signal in the instrument cluster.
Reversing camera The reversing camera adds a convenient feature and also tangibly improves safety. The camera integrated in the tailgate transmits an image of the area behind the vehicle to the COMAND screen. The camera image not only makes parking easier but also aids in manoeuvring through hard-to-see terrain.
Headlamps in bi-xenon version with active light function, incl. LED tail light The bi-xenon headlamps provide higher brightness values, a larger range of light and wider illumination of the road surface than conventional headlamps. With the active light function the headlamps follow the steering movements and tilt to adjust to curves. In turn the automatic speed adjustment allows for fast actuation at higher speeds or a correspondingly slower adjustment for lower speeds. This prevents the headlamps from frantically flipping back and forth, such as when driving on winding roads.

KEYLESS-GO drive authorisation system KEYLESS-GO is an electronic drive authorisation system which allows the driver to unlock or start the vehicle without having to use a key. The driver need only carry the KEYLESS-GO transponder and pull the door handle. The start/stop button starts the car.

THERMOTRONIC luxury automatic climate control The luxury automatic climate control THERMOTRONIC provides individual temperatures and a pleasant climate in up to four zones in the vehicle interior. The system allows for targeted air ducting in the front seats and in the rear where the passengers can access a separate control panel. In addition a combination or active charcoal filter catches dust and pollutants. To ensure an optimum climate, sensors permanently monitor the intensity of sunlight and the moisture of the fresh air drawn in. The values measured are continuously incorporated in the control system.
EASY-PACK kit The EASY-PACK load-securing kit ensures the items in the load compartment are secured firmly. A telescopic bar attaches to variable points on two cargo rails and allows the load compartment to be divided into different zones. Round objects can be secured to the sides using a retractable belt.

Memory package The memory package makes constant switching between drivers much more convenient. It stores the individual settings for the driver's seat for up to three people. As soon as a driver selects a setting with the touch of a button, electric controls automatically set the seat, steering column and exterior mirrors back to the previously saved positions.
Multicontour seats, left/right[3] The multicontour seats provide the driver and front passenger with optimum seat comfort: electrically adjustable air cushions in the seat allow it to be set to an individual position with optimum lateral support. The massage function helps prevent the back muscles from becoming fatigued during longer journeys. In addition the contour and seat surface can be adjusted to individual seating needs.
Heated front seats[3] A pleasant warmth on the skin comes courtesy of the seat heating in the cushions and back padding of the front seats. If "fast heating" is selected, the system switches to "normal" after approx. five minutes. If the battery capacity is low the seat heating is automatically switched off.
Climatised front seats (heated and ventilated) The climatised seats improve ride comfort on longer trips and reduces transpiration with a pleasant air flow and the selectable seat heating. Integrated in the seat upholstery are fans which uniformly distribute a flow or air in three intensity levels under the leather cover of the backrest and cushions. The air flows through the fine perforation and quickly cools down the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature – even if the vehicle has been heated by an intense amount of sunlight for a longer period of time. On cold days you can turn on the three-level adjustable seat heating, which guarantees together with the air flow that wet clothes dry faster.
Auxiliary heater with remote control Even on frosty days the auxiliary heater provides pleasant temperatures and eliminates ice on windows even before the drive begins. The heater has an output of five kilowatts and functions independently of the engine. It can be activated with a switch in the vehicle, using remote control from a distance of up to 300 metres or via a timer function.

Equipment packages

AIRMATIC package[2] The AIRMATIC package increases the suspension and ride comfort and the vehicle dynamics function in on-road and off-road operation. It works with a four-level air suspension system and always provides complete spring travel even when the vehicle is loaded. The settings of sport/auto/comfort are available at the press of a button. The adaptive damping system ADS also improves the road roar and tyre vibration characteristics and handling. From a speed of 120 km/h the AIRMATIC package automatically lowers the normal level of the vehicle by 15 mm. This reduces the wind resistance and lowers fuel consumption. If the speed drops below 70 km/h, the vehicle returns to the normal level. Off-Road Pro engineering The Off-Road Pro engineering package expands the vehicle's off-road capability on difficult terrain. With optimum traction and selectable ground clearance, journeys over unpaved terrain and through smaller waterways are no problem at all.
