The optional COMAND APS control and display system (standard in C 350 AMG Edition and C 63 AMG) combines a high-quality audio system with music server, a telephone and navigation system. The newly developed control concept makes operating the system – despite a much wider range of functions – far user-friendlier and more intuitive than ever before. The pivoting 7-inch display with new graphic elements and new colors is positioned at the same height as the instrument cluster and thus ideally within the driver's field of vision.

COMAND APS can be controlled either via an input pad in the centre console or via the ergonomically placed controller in front of the armrest. All key functions can now also be accessed using voice control: destination input for the navigation system uses whole words to identify all town and street names; you can simply dial a stored phone number by saying the name and the system will read out your text messages if you prefer.

An integrated Bluetooth device also provides safe hands-free operation using the mobile phone, while the DVD player plays CDs and MP3 files as well as audio DVDs. The navigation system hard disc can store over 500 MP3 songs – and you can also insert a memory card into the integral PCMCIA slot to access many more.
